The Park City Board of REALTORS® Professional Development Committee is proud to have created a Park City Area Specialist: A Local Agent Designation



A Designation to distinguish the Park City Board of REALTOR® members who choose to be recognized for their knowledge base and expertise on topics specific to Summit and Wasatch Counties.  This provides the general public the added assurance that the agent of their choice has obtained the education and experience necessary to best serve their needs.



The requirements for the designation are as follows:

  • Agent must be a member in Good Standing of the Park City Board of REALTORS® for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Agent is required to have a minimum of 6 closed transactions in Summit or Wasatch Counties.
  • Agent must complete ALL the required core classes and 5 elective classes with a minimum of 26 total class hours.
  • Agent will be allowed to apply past class attendance over a three year period.
  • Agent will submit application to the PCBR with necessary documentation.


Agent must complete ALL of the Core Classes listed below.

  1. Working with Developers ( 2 hour CE)
  2. Local Informational Websites (3 hours CE)
  3. Water Law for the Layman (3 hours CORE)
  4. What You Need to Know: Wasatch Back Property Management (2 hours CORE)
  5. Financing Resort Real Estate (3 hours CE)


Agent must complete five of the Elective options listed below.

  1. Real Estate Safety Matters (3)
  2. 1031 Tax Deferred Exchange (2 hours CORE)
  3. PCMLS Training Courses
    • Intro to Matrix and Client Portal (1 hour CE)
    • Transaction Desk Basics (1 hour CE)
    • Transaction Desk Advanced (1 hour CE)
    • Advanced Searches on the PCMLS (1 hours CE)
    • Using Realist on the PCMLS (1 hour CE)
  4. Resort and Second Home Property Specialist (REBAC certification course – 7 hours CE credit)
  5. 2-day Green Designation (REBAC designation course – 7 hours core / 7 hours regular CE)
  6. Park City Historic Tour: Provide ticket stub (2 hours – not for CE credit)
  7. Park City Museum Tour: Provide ticket stub (2 hours – not for CE credit)
  8. Park City Leadership 101 (1 day course held annually – not for CE credit)
  9. Park City Leadership Program Graduate (participation in this program counts as all elective credit)
